Security agencies and anti terrorism department Punjab have decided to launch a major clean up operation in Attock, Hazro, Hassanabdal and adjoining areas. Reports said that the decision of a massive operation was taken immediately after the suicide attack in Hazro in which Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada was martyred alongwith 19 others.
The sources said that Attock and adjoining areas are considered as a safe heaven for the terrorists from FATA and South Punjab.
At the same time the Punjab government has ordered high security alert for top government functionaries, political and religious leaders, provincial Ministers and Parliamentarians.
The law enforcement agencies have been asked to keep security at high alert at the residences of these signatories.
On the instructions of Inspector General Police, Punjab checking has been intensified at all the entry and exit points of all the cities in addition to search operations.
