11 alleged drug traffickers held: ANF seizes narcotics worth Rs 12.48 billion

The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered narcotics valuing Rs 12.48 billion in the international market and nabbed 11 alleged drugs traffickers during 10 different operations.
An official of ANF said that various teams of ANF carried out operation in Quetta, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar respectively seized huge cache of narcotics which include 5.17 tons Charas, 10kg heroin and 3kg opium and apprehended 11 drug offenders including two women and took two vehicles into their custody. He said that the ANF Quetta conducted an operation in Tehsil Gulistan, District QiIla Abdullah and recovered 5166kg hashish. The drug was packed in 51 bags each containing 51kg.
In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi foiled a smuggling bid by arresting a passenger namely Bahadur, resident of Kurram Agency at Benazir Bhutto International Airport for carrying heroin filled capsules. During interrogation, he confessed of having gulped heroin filled capsules.
He said that the ANF team recovered two-kg hashish from a Suzuki Car (IDN-6021) on Tarki Toll Plaza, near Sohawa, GT Road Jehlum and arrested Muhammad Aziz, a resident of Dara Adam Khel. The ANF team also arrested an alleged local drug supplier Amir Shahzad from Bara Kahu and recovered 1 kg heroin and 1kg hashish from his possession.
The official said that ANF conducted operations in Lahore, and Sargodha. The ANF team arrested three peddlers including two women in the vicinity of Quidabad, Sargodha Road, Khushab and recovered 2.5 Kg Heroin from their possession. While during another operation the ANF team intercepted a UK destined parcel containing ladies purse at Sky Net World Wide Express Lahore and recovered 0.400 Kg Heroin concealed in it. He said that the ANF stopped a Rawalpindi bound passenger van near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar and arrested Niaz Parwana and Arshad Khan, residents of Peshawar and recovered 2.4 Kg hashish from their possession.
