The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore on Friday declared the results of Entrance Test 2015 for admission to medical and dental colleges of the Punjab. A total of 46,885 candidates appeared in the Entrance Test held on August 30, out of which 19283 scored 60 percent and above marks. As many as 6891 scored 50 to 59 percent whereas 6490 candidates secured 40 to 49 percent marks. A total of 14221 candidates scored less than 40 percent marks.
According to Pakistan Medical and Dental Council's regulations, the pass/fail criteria have been abolished for the medical colleges' entrance test. Noor-us-Sabah Ahmad d/o Nadeem Ahmad from Lahore got the first position securing 1076/1100 marks whereas Muhammad Hassan Naveed s/o Muhammad Naveed Akhtar of Lahore and Samabia Javed d/o Javed Iqbal of Faisalabad bagged second and third position by securing 1065/1100 and 1059/1100 marks respectively.
The eligible candidates will compete for 3405 MBBS and 216 BDS seats in 20 public sector medical and dental colleges respectively. The admission forms for government medical and dental colleges will be available from October 01 to October 10. All those candidates who have secured 82 percent and above aggregate marks according to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council's formula will be eligible to apply for admission on open merit basis. The first selection list will be displayed on October 30 whereas classes in all public sector medical colleges of the Punjab will commence on November 16.
