While the last date for filing of appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers in the Local Bodies' elections is September 22, scrutiny of nomination papers for the first phase in the Punjab only began on Saturday. The process will continue till September 17. The nomination papers can be withdrawn by October 1. A revised list of candidates will be published on the second day with the polling on October 31.
In the Punjab, local government elections will be held in 12 districts in the first phase. The districts are Lodhran, Vehari, Okara, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Bhakkar, Lahore, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Gujrat and Chakwal.
