Provincial ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan has said that assemblies are occupied by contractors, which instead of public interest are promoting their own interest.
He was addressing a meeting of the JI members at Masjid Madina at Chakesar on Sunday. He said that once there was a time when contractors and businessmen could not elect to the parliament, saying the law still prevails in most of the countries of the world where no contractor or businessman could become a member of parliament. But, in Pakistan, he said unfortunately contractors and businessmen have occupied the assemblies and their whole efforts have to concentrate on the protection of their own businesses, and nation is not included in their manifesto.
