Taiwan stocks were slightly down Monday as early gains gave way to caution over China's economy and markets. As of 0309 GMT, the main TAIEX index was down 0.1 points at 8,300.04, after closing up 0.5 percent on Friday at highs not seen in a month. The electronics subindex was up 0.2 percent, while the financial subindex was down 0.4 percent. Among actively traded shares, display maker AU Optronics was flat while Fubon Financial was down 0.8 percent. The Taiwan dollar was up T$0.21 to stand at T$32.500 to the US dollar.
