Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting, here Thursday, which reviewed overall law & order situation and security arrangements on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and during bye-elections to be held next month. The meeting decided to further tighten security on entry and exit routes of Punjab. There will be ban on collecting sacrificial hides by banned organisations.
Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif directed that strict implementation of ban on collecting sacrificial hides by defunct organisations should be ensured. He further directed foolproof security arrangements should be ensured on Eid-ul-Azha throughout the province and every possible step should be taken for maintaining law & order. He said that special attention should be paid to the security of mosques, Imambarghahas, worship and sensitive places. He said that police officers should personally review the security arrangements at site.
The Chief Minister directed members of cabinet committee to visit three divisions for reviewing security arrangements made on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha and every possible step should be taken for protection of life and property of the people. Shahbaz said that the law of ban on display of arms should be implemented strictly. Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, Spokesman Punjab Government Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal, Khawaja Ahmed Hasaan, Inspector General Police, Secretary Home and concerned officials attended the meeting.
