President, Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Rashid Ahmed Siddiqui has said that infrastructure problems of industrial areas should be given priority in any development package. He said that if any special package being under-consideration of Sindh government did not address issues of industrial areas issues it would not worthwhile for the city.
He said that the performance of provincial and district departments was not satisfactory with regards of construction and maintenance of roads, water supply and sewerage and providing other infrastructural services.
He recalled that it was promised long ago that an RO plants will be set up in Korangi Industrial Area but it was not met yet. Shortage of water is a huge problem for industry, especially for textile and tannery units, he pointed out.
