The Ummah Welfare Trust (UWT), a Muslim charity organisation, has slaughtered hundreds of sacrificial animals and distributed their meat among the poor, Afghan refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) across the country. According to the spokesman for the UWT, Sahibzada Syed Imran Shah said that a large number of sacrificial animals was slaughtered, worth of Rs140 million, including 2,222 big, and 3800 small sacrificial animals, said a press release issued here on Sunday.
The spokesman said that the UWT Chairman, Muhammad Idress in his message from the UK has urged the Muslims to equally distribute sacrificial meat among the poor and deserving people and not deprive them of their rights on this special occasion.
