FPCCI annual elections UBG nominates Abdul Rauf as presidential candidate

United Business Group (UBG) has nominated former president Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdul Rauf Alam as its candidate for president seat in the upcoming annual election of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) 2016. UBG's Chairman S.M. Munir said that FPCCI needed young leadership and UBG nominated a young man as it candidate for upcoming election of FPCCI.
Introducing the candidate at a dinner hosted by UBG Sindh Region, he said that the group is fully prepared to take part in the upcoming election to be held in December-2015. S. M. Munir said that FPCCI was a representative body of the business community of the country in which representation of all chambers was included. He said FPCCI would be made more effective to safeguard the interests of business community.
He said that the federation was getting representation at government level, and President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were including FPCCI office-bearers in their entourage for foreign tours. "Rice, fruits and vegetables demand is increasing abroad and new markets are being explored and captured. If sales tax's is refunded timely then export can be enhanced considerably," he added.
UBG candidate Abdul Rauf Alam said that they would try their best to address the genuine problems being confronted by the business community across the country and live up to the aspiration of the business community. He said that if he was elected as President FPCCI, he would take all trade bodies and associations on board on important issues of the business community.
He said FPCCI would be further strengthened to make it a dynamic apex trade body of the country and he would work hard for promoting the interests of the whole business community of the country. Iftikhar Ali Malik said that they would not exploit business community and take decisions on merit for the promotion of trade. FPCCI President Mian Muhammad Adrees, Sr. Vice President, Abdul Rahim Janoo, Senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour , Tanweer Ahmed Shaikh, UBG Central Secretary General Zubair Tufail, Chairman, Punjab Region S.M. Naseer, Chairman, Sindh Region Khalid Tawwab, Spokesman Gulzar Feroz, Hanif Gohar, Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Zafar Bakhtawari, Chairman APTMA Tariq Saud, Riazuddin Shaikh, Mian Akram Farid, Waheed Ahmed, Engr. Daroo Khan, Mumtaz Shaikh, Malik Sohail Hussain, Samina Fazil, Shereen Arshad, Naheed Masood, Asif Khan, Abdul Sami Khan, Hameed Akhtar Chadda and other also spoke.
