Pakistan's most innovative young minds have a new forum to present their ground-breaking ideas as Habib University will host the Falling Walls Lab Karachi on October 10, an exciting competition for solutions to Pakistan's most pressing social and scientific problems. Excellent academics, entrepreneurs and professionals will pitch their innovative ideas, research projects and social initiatives to their peers, the general public, and a top jury from academia and business.
The distinguished interdisciplinary Jury for the Lab has decades of expertise in international development, medical research, education, media, business creation and entrepreneurship. The Jury includes. Ines Chabbi, CEO of German Pakistan Trade and Investment, Dr Kulsoom Ghias, Vice Chair for Undergraduate Education and Assistant Professor of Biological and Biomedical Science at Aga Khan University, Abdul Rahman Rafiq, entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Inspurate Business Services, and Dr Stefan Winkler, Director of Goethe Institute Karachi.
The ideas present breakthrough solutions to the most critical challenges facing Pakistan, tackling the energy crisis, affordable medical care, illiteracy, preservation of cultural knowledge and more. Pakistan has enormous untapped potential that can be developed by strong support networks and public plat forms that encourage the open discussions of ideas. The Falling Walls Lab Karachi will be an inspiring and innovative forum for both participants and audience to engage with fellow entrepreneurs, academics, and professionals, learn about innovative research and ideas, and connect to business, scientific and entrepreneurial networks.
Participants will deliver their ideas as three-minute "elevator pitches". Presentations will be judged on breakthrough factor, relevance, and impact to society and the most intriguing presenter will travel to present his or her idea on an international stage at the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin, Germany, where over a hundred young innovators from more than thirty countries will come together to pitch their innovative research.
Falling Walls Lab Karachi takes place on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Habib University, in association with German Pakistan Trade and Investment and supported by the Falling Walls Foundation.-PR
