Former vice president of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi said on Friday that collaboration between Pakistani and Qatari businessmen would give impetus to mutual trade and both sides should start joint ventures in various fields. He said, "Pakistani businessmen should join hands with their Qatari counterparts and avail opportunities in various sectors including infrastructure, tourism, pharmaceutical and healthcare. Qatar is in dire need of skilled manpower as Pakistan can earn a huge foreign exchange through exporting skilled manpower to Qatar."
He stressed upon the need to develop a screening mechanism. "Despite the fact that Pakistan and Qatar are the members of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation, having close and co-operative relations, these prolonged ties are never reflected in the bilateral economic relations. LCCI is ready to play an effective role in promoting the trade and economic co-operation between both the countries."
