Fire destroys train's bogie

A train's bogie was reduced to ashes here at Karachi Cantonment Station on Friday; however no loss of life was reported. According to sources, one of the coaches parked at Washing Line of Cantt Station, mysteriously caught fire during morning hours. The blaze ruined the whole coach within few minutes due to "sluggish" rescue operation. An eyewitness said that some drug peddlers were also present near the scene at the time of incident.
Divisional Commercial Officer Nasir Nazir told Business Recorder that a coach of Awami Express got damaged due to fire. To a question he said: "Initial investigations suggest that it might be an arson attempt; however we have constituted a three-member team to ascertain the facts, which would submit its report within next three days." There were also other coaches at the Washing Line; however they were promptly moved by rescue teams, he said.
