The Vice President of Pakistan Peoples' Party Senator Sherry Rehman has urged the party workers to come out of homes and vote for the PPP candidates in NA 122 by-polls. "Jiyalas should come out or homes," she urged in the party's public meeting at the main Iqbal Road in the vicinity of Garhi Shahu the other night. President PPP Punjab Manzoor Wattoo, Taj Haider, Nadeem Afzal Chan and other senior leaders also addressed the party gathering. A good number of party workers kept dancing on the party songs while Cheering slogans in favour of Barrister Amir Hassan, the party candidate for the by polls.
Interestingly, there was not a single portrait of party's co-Chairman Asif Zardari on the flexes and backdrops of the public meeting. Sherry said the PPP has always been supportive to the labourers, farmers and commoners of the country. "We give share to labourers when we came to power," she said.
She further said the PPP had secured Sawat from the terrorists. The PPP has been fighting against the terrorists since day one, she added. She captained that the process of accountability has been invented for the PPP. She further said the government was running the country on the loans from the IMF. "The government has borrowed another Rs 50 billion in the shape of Euro bonds."
