SECP issues list of 7,911 defunct companies

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has issued list of 7,911 defunct/dormant companies which were registered with the commission but stopped doing businesses. In this regard, the SECP has also issued names of companies, registered office addresses and cities where companies were operating. According to the list, 7911 defunct/dormant companies were registered in different cites including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad Peshawar and Multan. The SECP has also issued consolidated list of 178 dormant NGOs whose licenses were revoked by the SECP under Section 42(4) of Companies Ordinance 1984.
