Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Senator Siraj-ul-Haq has called for even-handed and in-discriminatory accountability to get the country rid of the cancer of corruption. He was addressing a training seminar of district and tehsil level leaders JI from Malakand Division here in Al-Markaz-e-Islami Friday. Naib Ameer, Mian Mohammad Aslam, JI KP Ameer, Mushtaq Ahmad, Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, Shabir Ahmad Khan, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Khalil, Baharullah Khan, KP Finance Minister Muzaffar Said, KP Senior Minister Inayatullah Khan and KP Minister for Religious Affairs, Habib-ur-Rehman were also present on the occasion.
The JI chief said that despite having nothing, the poor people love Pakistan and always remained ready for any kind of sacrifice. But, big capitalists and influential are mercilessly looting the national exchequer, which is weakening the country economically and as well as socially.
For the resolution of the problems of common men at their door steps, he stressed need for the promotion of good governance granting maximum powers and stability of local governments. Under the constitution of Pakistan and Local Government Act, 2013 they should be granted all political, administrative and financial powers without any delay. He also demanded the release of the rules of business for local governments in the province with immediate effect.
He said that federal and all four provincial governments has left with only 800 days for giving relief to the people and bringing them out of the grave problems. He identified bad governance, energy crisis, galloping unemployment as big national problems. The JI chief said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should strongly demand the release of Dr Afia Siddiqui during his visit to United States.
He said that only JI could provide competent and honest leadership to the country and directed their provincial ministers, MPAs, MNAs and nazims to work for the resolution of the people. He said that JI will soon emerge as a strongest and effective political forces of the country and said that youth and women will play crucial role in the future politics of Pakistan.
