Security tightened in Faisalabad

The Central Ashura (Muharram 10) procession in industrial city will be taken out from Imam Bargah Jafria Trust Iqbal Park (Dhobi Ghatt) amid tight security today (Saturday) and more than 153 other processions of Zul-jinah, Tazias and Alam from District Faisalabad will also be taken out. Meanwhile, a comprehensive security plan has been prepared for Imambargahs and Ashura processions in the Industrial city.
Speaking in a security meeting, officers of CM Monitoring Team Secretary Population Welfare Punjab Altaf Aizaz and DIG Traffic Punjab Rana Muhammad Iqbal said that over 7000 security personnel and policemen including 3000 Volunteers would be deployed around Imambargahs and along the routes of mourning processions. The monitoring of Muharram arrangements is being carried out with attention and responsibility so that law & order situation can be kept under control on Youm-e-Ashore for which law enforcement agencies are performing their duties actively, they added.
CM Monitoring Team Secretary Population Welfare Punjab Altaf Aizaz and DIG Traffic Punjab Rana Muhammad Iqbal also inspecting the District Muharram Control Room working here at DCO Office. They minutely checked the process of monitoring the Muharram processions and majalis security arrangements and said that this task was very important nature to keep eye on suspicious persons and said that the surveillance duty should be performed with full responsibility.
ADC Ejaz Khaliq briefed the monitoring team about the duties working methodology of control room and said that the staffs of Rescue 1122, police, civil defence, health, TMAs, SNGPL, FESCO, PTCL and other concerned departments was performing duties in three shifts to co-ordinate the departmental Muharram arrangements. Later, officers of monitoring team went to main Imambargah Dhobi Ghatt and visited the processions of Youm-e-Ashore for review the security arrangements.
They directed that the security staff stationed at roof top of the buildings at Muharram processions routs should be checked to keep them full vigilant. They also visited Imambargah Bostan-e-Zohra and other routs of Muharram processions and issued necessary directions to the duty staff for further strengthening the security arrangements.
