300 cartons of cigarettes seized

Directorate of Intelligence and investigation Inland Revenue Peshawar has seized 300 cartons of duty evaded cigarettes. It is learnt here on Wednesday that a team of the agency had conducted an operation against the non-duty paid cigarettes at Peshawar. The trucks carrying 3 million duty evaded sticks were intercepted on the Swabi-Jahangira Road.
On the inspection, it was found that tax invoices carried by the transporter were fake. The cigarette brand seized by the authorities was "Tender". According to sources, this is second such seizure in KPK by I&I IR officials in the last couple of weeks. Directorate General I&I, IR, FBR has started crackdown against illegal and duty evaded cigarettes and will continue its momentum of such seizure with full force and determination.
