The Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a mega development project which is also a lifeline for Pakistan and very important for China as well. He was talking to a visiting Chinese diplomat and Director General for External Security, Liu Guagyuan, who was heading a three-member delegation at the Governor House here on Monday.
The Governor further pointed out that the CPEC was also a part of the Pakistan's domestic and foreign policy. He was of the view that this is also a great symbol of the Pakistan-China friendship. Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan said that Pak-China friendship is an exemplary one.
He stated that with the CPEC, China has opened new avenues for economic and trade development in Pakistan. The Governor pointed out that with the success of the CPEC, Pakistan would swiftly be included among the fast developing countries. He said that we will take every step to facilitate our Chinese brothers. Special steps would also be taken for the provision of security. Dr Ishrat said that the Governor House would remain in contact with the Chinese Consulate. He said that Karachi is the economic and financial hub of Pakistan and the further development of this metropolis would also be linked with the CPEC.
The Governor said that in this meeting any reservations regarding the security of Chinese workers have been addressed and there is a commitment and determination in this regard which is very much encouraging for the Chinese engineers and workers. He stated that the Chinese engineers and workers in Karachi are diligently performing their duties with their Pakistani brothers; they would put our country on the path of speedy growth and development.
