Frontier Corps (FC) claimed to have killed at least three suspected militants during an exchange of fire in Kalat district, Balochistan on Friday. According to FC spokesman, FC along with security forces was conducting a search operation in Gidar and Sorab areas of Kalat district when a number of armed men opened fire on security forces. Three miscreants were killed during retaliatory firing by FC and security forces men.
"One FC soldier also embraced martyrdom in ambush," FC spokesman said. FC spokesman claimed that all three belonged to a banned outfit operating in the area and were involved in a number of subversive activities. "A huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession," said the spokesman. Security forces have intensified their actions in Balochistan after the announcement of the National Action Plan to combat terrorism in the country.
