The prosecution lawyer in Abdul Rashid Ghazi murder case on Saturday requested the trial court to verify medical certificate submitted by former president General Pervez Musharraf (Retd), seeking exemption from appearing in person in the court due to ill health. Additional district and sessions judge Pervaiz Ul Qadir Memon resumed hearing of Abdul Rashid Ghazi's murder case.
Tariq Asad, the counsel for complainant Haroon Rashid, son of Abdul Rashid Ghazi, objected that medical certificate submitted by Musharraf is not original. He claimed that there are no mention of the hospital and the medicines he has been using. He requested the court to summon the doctors who prepared the medical certificate of Musharraf as court witness to ascertain its veracity. The medical certificate was produced by Malik Tahir advocate, the counsel for General Musharraf (Retd) along with an application seeking exemption of his client. As per medical certificate of General Musharraf (Retd), he was suffering from cardiac problem. The consultants recommended his treatment abroad as per the prescription of medical specialists, the required facility lacks in the country. The counsel for Musharraf requested the trial judge to adjourn the proceedings enabling him to produce latest medical report of his client.
