Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the India could not suppress the Kashmiris right to self-determination by force and the Kashmiris would decide their future by themselves. He was addressing a huge rally organized by the JI in Islamabad on the appeal of veteran Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani, to express solidarity with the Kashmiris' struggle for liberation.
Sirajul Haq urged the United Nations and the international community to come forward for the implementation of the UN resolutions regarding occupied Kashmir. He said it was the duty of the Pakistan government to extend political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris and build world opinion on this score.
He said that Indian occupation forces were perpetrating untold brutalities in held Kashmir but the world conscience remained unmoved. Indian Prime Minister Modi, the leader of the so-called world largest democracy, was promoting fascism as hatred for non-Hindus, the Muslims, Christians and other minorities was increasing. In this, way, he said, he said the Indian government had itself created an atmosphere for the creation of another Pakistan in their country. He said that the year 2016 would be the year of the liberation of Kashmir.
The JI chief assured the Kashmiris that they were not alone in their struggle for freedom as the 180 million Pakistanis stood with them and the rally today proved that. The participants of the rally raised slogans in support of the Kashmiris right for freedom and also formed a human chain on the appeal of Syef Ali Gilani, to express their complete solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren. Sirajul Haq said that the Quaid-e-Azam had declared Kashmir as the life line for Pakistan and the people of Pakistan could not allow India to control it.
Earlier, the JI chief while addressing the 42nd general council of the JI Azad Jammu and Kashmir, said that the Kashmiris had once again proved that they did not want to live with India. Speaking on the occasion, JI Azad Kashmir chief Abdur Rashid Turabi, vowed to step up campaign against the prevailing oppressive system. He urged the JI workers to continue their struggle against the prevailing system of exploitation and oppression.
