Three women among six dead as jeep falls into gorge

At least six people of a family including three women and a child died and 10 others wounded when a jeep fell into deep gorge here on Saturday. Police said that a jeep carrying a family from Jabborri Bazaar to Sundi village of district Mansehra skidded off the road and plunged into ravine in Kottari area. Four people including a child died on the spot in the accident and 12 others were critically wounded.
The local people on self help basis pulled the bodies out and injured from the gorge and shifted them to hospital where two more succumbed to their wounds raising death toll to six. According to medics condition of some more wounded people was serious and it was feared that death toll could rise further. Some among the deceased were identified as Resham Jan, Razia w/o Aurangzeb, Mehr Fazoon w/o Abdul Qayyum and Shahjehan. Local sources said that the accident took place due to poor condition of road and reckless driving.
