Death toll in factory collapse rises to 54

Four more bodies of victims of the Sundar Industrial Estate factory collapse were recovered from the four storey rubble raising the death toll to 54 as the rescue operation continued uninterrupted search on the fifth day on Sunday. The rescue operators , city district government, Rescue 1122 assisted by Army units are continuing the biggest day and night clear up operation with heavy machinery, diggers and drills at the site of the collapsed factory .
More than 109 injured victims have been extricated from the wreckage of the four storeyed factory so far. Meanwhile citizens lighted candles at the site of the accident in memory of those who lost their lives and to show their solidarity with the families of the victims.
