The 7th Pakistan Japan Business Dialogue and the 5th Pakistan Japan Government Business Joint Dialogue will be held in Islamabad, Pakistan on 10th November. From Japan, Mr Tsuneo Kitamura, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Mr Teruo Asada, Chairman, Japan Pakistan Business Co-operation Committee and accompanying Japanese Business Delegation will participate to exchange views with the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistani Business Delegation for further promoting economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Pakistan and Japan have been enjoying traditionally friendly economic relations for long years. The raw cotton import from Pakistan in 1950's has significantly contributed for textile industry of Japan which was one of driving force for the Japanese economic revival from devastating World War ?. After half century, now, approximately 70 Japanese companies are operating in Pakistan, and more Japanese companies are interested in and coming to Pakistan.
There is still much room for further enhancement of trade and investment between Pakistan and Japan. I wish success to these Dialogues and hope these Dialogues will contribute for further strengthening our long-standing economic partnership between Pakistan and Japan.
