Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) will constitute a special committee comprising of the directors and management of the company and other professionals for the rehabilitation of sick industrial units, say draft recommendations of the company, already presented to the Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak.
The committee will compile a comprehensive policy and strategy for revival of sick units.
The committee will follow several steps including the assessment of factors and economic viability of closed units, arranging consultation and guidance for rehabilitation of units.
The company will also facilitate sick units in arrangement of finances and closed units will be revived by rescheduling, restructuring their liabilities and those closed due to financial problems to be supported through timely flow of credit at subsidised rates.
They will also be ensured regularly supply of inputs and raw materials. The company has also proposed a 30% waiver on arrears of electricity to all closed units subject to start of commercial operations in next 6 months.
