Promotion PIA accused of making controversial decision

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is said to have taken a controversial decision elevating its Chief Hajj Co-ordinator (CHC) to the position of Director Airport Services (DAS) with immediate effect. Sources said the HR, Admin and Co-ordination department despite unsuccessful Hajj operations has given another charge of DAS to its chief Hajj Co-ordinator Captain Anwar Adil Shaikh with immediate effect. They said that Captain Anwar was also facing fake degree allegations and remained unimpressive when he was posted as chief Hajj co-ordinator during the last Hajj season.
They said that the schedules of majority of flights operated from three main stations - Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad - had faced long delays during pre-Hajj operations. Similarly, PIA maintained only 40 per cent punctuality during post-Hajj operations. Moreover, sources said that General Manager Passenger Handling Services had also been directed to report to Director Airport Services. When contacted, PIA spokesperson Daniyal said the appointment of Captain Anwar as DAS. He claimed that PIA had made successful Hajj operations during last season as compared to past years and his appointment was based on his performance as Chief Hajj Co-ordinator. Moreover, he answered that his appointment as DAS was made after verifying the veracity of his degree.
