Aman Foundation has introduced AmanLeaders - an innovative new leadership programme, developed to encourage promising young talent to take the lead in addressing Pakistan's biggest challenges in health and education sectors. The two-year programme is modelled upon global social sector leadership fellowships as well as corporate management trainee programmes, consisting of departmental rotations within Aman's diverse business units.
Welcoming the business leaders and social entrepreneurs at the launch ceremony here at a local hotel, Aman Foundation's Chairman Fayeeza Naqvi said: "The AmanLeaders programme identifies and develops the most passionate youth who are eager to solve Pakistan's challenging socio-economic problems. Aman firmly believes that the next generation will further the goal of transforming lives in Pakistan and is committed to harnessing their passion, hard work and entrepreneurial spirit in achieving this." Malik Ahmad Jalal, CEO, Aman Foundation, said on the occasion: "Pakistan needs to engage new generation and envision innovative ideas to tackle the surmountable yet enormous problems we face in the areas of health and education. We need a fresh approach to attract students and the youth who can spearhead our goal of sustainable and systematic change in Pakistan."
"It is Pakistan's first management trainee programme for the social development sector as it introduced 14 AmanLeaders to icons of Pakistan's corporate and social sectors," he said. The event featured established leaders and business personalities across different disciplines including Shazad Dada, CEO, Standard Chartered Bank; Mushtaq Chhapra, Chairman and Founder of The Citizens Foundation; Nadeem Hussain, Founder and former CEO of Tameer Microfinance Bank, and Sarfaraz Rehman, former CEO of Engro Foods, who spoke at the event and inspired the first cohort of AmanLeaders. The launch ceremony featured a video where AmanLeaders voiced their vision and shared their passion to help Pakistan. Aman is now accepting applications for the next cohort of AmanLeaders which commences in 2016.
