At least eight people were killed and 20 others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a truck near Bela area of Lasbela district on Thursday. According to Edhi sources, a passenger coach was heading towards Karachi from Quetta when it collided with a truck coming from opposite direction, killing eight people on the spot and injuring 20 others.
Levies and police personnel arrived at the scene and took the victims to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medical assistance while the dead bodies were shifted to Edhi morgue. Medics said the death toll is expected to soar as the condition of some injured passengers is said to be critical. According to police, over speeding and careless driving of passenger bus driver became the cause of accident however, an investigation has been launched into the matter.
