Sindh Culture Day, known as Topi and Ajrak Day, was observed by the people of Hyderabad with zeal and enthusiasm here on Sunday. Large number of people including male, female and children wearing traditional Sindhi Cap and Ajrak attended rallies taken out from different organisations and marched on roads in Qasimabad, Latifabad, Hyderabad City and Hyderabad Rural Talukas of the district.
The rallies after marching various routes gathered in front of Hyderabad Press Club and Sindh Museum where Sindhi media houses arranged cultural and musical concerts with eminent artists and singers. Dancing on songs, the participants of the rallies expressed their jubilation with great enthusiasm.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Hyderabad Zone also arranged a ceremony at zone office where traditional Sindhi Ajrak and cap were presented to media persons of Hyderabad in connection with Sindh Culture Day.
The district administration has adopted strict security arrangements with banning of aerial firing, and deployed Rangers and Police at different spots from where the rallies were passed.
However, the people experienced traffic jam at different roads particularly the main arteries of Station Road and Risala Road where the Traffic Police failed to clear the blockages of vehicles.
