Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) said that seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 90,34,118 bales of cotton have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of December 15, which shows a decrease of 31.74 percent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 1,32,33,986 bales.
According to the 8th fortnightly report of PCGA issued here, out of the total arrivals, 9.034 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far. Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrival of 53, 98,809 bales reflecting decrease of 42.86 percent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 36, 35,309 bales while last year Sindh received 37, 85,535 bales, which reflect a 3.97 percent decrease.
Textile mills have bought 68, 12,244 bales while exporters bought 3, 54,426 bales. The total bales sold out so far were 71, 66,870 bales. Multan received 1,21,525 bales, Lodhran 85,144 bales, Khanewal 3,72,491 bales, Muzaffargarh 2,37,169 bales, Dera Ghazi Khan 2,83,140 bales, Rajanpur 3,98,184 bales, Layyah 2,38,953 bales, Vehari 2,96,277 bales, Sahiwal 2,35,438 bales, Pakpattan 66,478 bales, Okara 22,098 bales, Kasur 11,376 bales, Toba Tek Singh 1,25,582 bales, Faisalabad 47,873 bales, Jhang 40,961 Mianwali 2,86,648 bales, Bhakkar 77,691 bales, Sargodha 11,100 bales, Rahimyar Khan 10,20355 bales, Bahawalpur 6,77,510 bales, Bahawalnagar 7,41,816 bales.
In Sindh Hyderabad received 2,45,712 bales, Mirpur Khas 2,71,535 bales, Sangarh ,13,16,293 bales, Nawabshah 3,08,339 bales, Naushero Feroze 2,77,956 bales, Jamshoro 1,33,000 bales ,Badeen 31,645 bales and Baluchistan 56,591 bales. Total 580 ginning factories are operational in the country. Of them 406 are in Punjab and 174 in Sindh. Total 18, 67,248 bales are lying in ginneries as unsold stock.
