Newage and Guard Filters started their Guard Group Polo Cup 2015 in great style after registering contrasting victories here at Lahore Polo Cup ground on Tuesday. In the first match of the day, Newage played superb polo and recorded an impressive 10-51/2 triumph against Evolutionaire Studios.
It was Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana who amused the spectators with his sublime form and sterling performance as he hammered magnificent seven goals while two goals came from Hashim Kamal Agha. For Evolutionaire Studios, Agha Murtaza Ali Khan hit two and Naveed M. Sheikh, Ibrahim Sheikh and Irfan Sheikh had one goal each.
In the second match of the day, Guard Filters inflicted 7-51/2 defeat on Diamond Paints & Dawood Group after a hard-fought contest. Taimur Ali Malik was hero of the match as he slammed sterling six goals to help his team register an inspiring victory. Omer Asjad Malhi was another player who contributed one goal in the Guard Filter's win. Mir Huzaifa Ahmad hit three goals while Abdullah Dawood had one for Diamond Paints & Dawood Group, who, despite having one and half goal handicap advantage, couldn't score victory.
