Police on Saturday arrested six rapists after recording the statement of a teenage girl who was kidnapped and gang-raped here at a local hotel on Upper Mall Road. According to an FIR, the 15-year-old girl of Multan Chungi area was abducted by unidentified men near her home while she was going to a tailor shop on Friday.
The family registered the case with police after they received a phone call that the girl was lying unconscious in a hotel's room. The police have registered an FIR against nine accused on the complaint of the victim's mother. Police on Saturday arrested six accused, including Abdul Majid, Javed, Muhammad Umer, Mirza Ali Khan, Mir Haris and Bilawal while the main culprit, Adnan Sanaullah and two others were being traced. DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said teams were conducting raids for arresting the other accused and forensic experts had collected taken evidence from the room.
