British High Commissioner in Pakistan, Philip Burton called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan here at Governor's House, Peshawar on Tuesday. The distinguished guest remained with the Governor for some time and matters of mutual interest with particular reference to the situation in the region came under discussion.
The Governor also highlighted the steps underway for ensuring sustainable peace and stability particularly in FATA and pointed out that government is taking the respective people along in all its measures for ensuring better future for them. Talking on various points, the governor also apprised him about the steps and endeavours of the government to ensure the dignified return and rehabilitation of displaced persons and said socio-economic uplift and well being of the people of FATA will continue to remain a top priority with special focus on bringing further improvement in working of healthcare system and educational facilities in the area.
