The Karachi Port handled 154,418 tonnes of cargo comprising 121,503 tonnes of import cargo and 32,915 tonnes of export cargo including 5,208 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 121,503 tonnes comprised of 28,545 tonnes of containerised cargo; 34,146 tonnes of general cargo; 5,920 tonnes of rock phosphate and 52,892 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 32,915 tonnes comprised of 29,426 tonnes of containerised cargo; 30 tonnes of general cargo and 3,459 tonnes of rice. As many as 5,208 containers comprising of 1,983 containers import and 3,225 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The breakup of imported containers shows 619 of 20's and 656 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 26 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 625 of 20's and 502 of 40's loaded containers while 590 of 20's and 503 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were eight ships namely X-Press Euphrates, KMTC Dubai, APL Cyprine, Kota Kamil, Shalamar, Pacific Pride, Jin Sui and Iwami carrying containers, oil tankers, steel and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were five vessels viz. ACX Crystal, Kota Kamil, Sima Prestige, Han Yi and Iwami carrying containers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely ACX Crystal, Sima Prestige, Steel Honesty and Shandong Hai Tong carrying containers and steel respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday while two ships namely Falcon Victory and Pacific Sky carrying oil tankers respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
There was one vessel viz. Formosa Falcon carrying mogas due to arrive on Tuesday while five vessels viz. MOL Direction, Hyundai Colombo, Batam Trader, Grand Race and Dato Lucky carrying containers, vehicle and steel respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 42,755 tonnes comprising 42,755 tonnes of import cargo was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 42,755 tonnes includes 17,851 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,500 tonnes of edible oil; 16,604 tonnes of steel coil and 2,800 tonnes of chemical.
There were two ships namely MT Lahore and MV Bum Shin carrying furnace oil and chemical sailed out to sea on Monday morning. A total number of four vessels viz. MV Datu Lucky, MV Bum Shin, MT Lahore and MT Oceanic Coral currently occupied berths to load/offload steel product, chemical, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as five ships carrying containers, rice, chemical and furnace oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Tuesday.
There were two vessels carrying chemical and edible oil took berths at Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There were three ships namely CV Maersk Columbus, CV Al Hilal and MV SC Guang Zhou carrying containers and chemical respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
