A judicial magistrate has sent eight suspects, including a governing party youth wing leader, to jail after being found guilty of gang-raping a teenager. The accused summoned by the Race Course police on Friday were the governing party youth wing leader, Adnan Sanaullah, and his accomplices identified as Abdul Majid, Muhammad Umar, Ameer Ahmad, Haris, Bilawal, Imran Shahid and Qamar Zaman.
An investigating officer told the court that an investigation had completed and the police no longer wanted the accused for further questioning. He also gave them an interim fine slip. The magistrate had jailed them on judicial remand and told the police to complete the fine slip in the next hearing. The 15-year-old girl was gang-raped by these men after being drugged in a guest house in the Mall Road area on December 25. She was then admitted to the Services Hospital where reports of initial medical tests revealed that the girl had been subjected to rape. The men later text messaged her family to pick her up.
