KP Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai has said that provincial government would provide state-of-the-art machinery, modern technology, specialist doctors, nurses and paramedics facilities for newly established Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
He stated this while visiting the PIC on Friday. Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University (KMU) and Project Director of PIC Professor Dr Mohammad Hafizullah, Dean PGMI and Project Deputy Director PIC Professor Dr Riaz Anwar, Chief Planning Officer Health Department ,XEN Works & Services Department, Contractor and Consultant of the project were also present on the occasion.
The minister said this unique facility will cater to the needs of patients coming from KP and Fata region in particular and AJK and Afghanistan in general. This hospital will provide free treatment in emergency and to the needy patients. He said the present provincial government is committed to provide all possible health facilities on priorities basis to all the masses on their door step. He said that the reforms process will not only be continued in Health department but will also to the attached departments.
The minister has instructed the concerned authorities to complete the civil work of PIC up to June 30. He said all the required facilities and demands regarding completion of the project would be provided on emergency footings. While briefing the minister about the project, Professor Dr Mohammad Hafizullah said this project is situated on 34 Kanal of land and it has Rs 1794.42 million cost. He said that 95 percent of the civil work has been completed and hopefully after installation of equipment and sanctioning of the posts, PIC will be functional soon.
