Authorities in Switzerland have rejected self-exiled Baloch leader Brahamdagh Bugti's appeal seeking political asylum on Friday. Bugti is entitled to challenge the decision over the application, which he had filed five years ago.
Brahamdagh Bugti, a grandson of former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, has long been supporting insurgency in Pakistan's south-west province. Lately, in a couple of interviews with foreign media outlets, he expressed his willingness to come to negotiating table. He also conceded that former Balochistan chief minister Abdul Malik Baloch and federal minister Lieutenant-General Abdul Qadir Baloch (retd) had approached him as part of government's efforts to bring peace to Balochistan.
