Jordan's Ministry of Trade and Industry cancelled for the second time a tender to buy 100,000 tonnes of wheat, a government source and traders said on Tuesday. The wheat was being sought for shipment during the second half of February and the first half of March, but traders said no offers were made.
Jordan had also received no offers on November 18 when it initially tendered for the amount. Jordan has canceled several tenders in recent months due to a lack of offers, with traders blaming strict tender terms on inspection and payment, although the country did announce a purchase of both wheat and barley earlier this month.
