Special team of district administration conducted raids in Basharat and Insaf Markets of Hayatabad Township and arrested 8 profiteers including bakers (nanbais), vegetable, fruit vendours and owners of grocery shops.
According to details, on the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Riaz Khan Mehsud, the Additional Assistant Commissioners (AACs) Fazilat Jehan and Imran Khan conducted raids on the two markets of Hayatabad and arrested 8 profiteers.
The official price of a cooked 170 gram roti is Rs 10. However, most of bakers are selling underweight roti to fleece the consumers. Speaking on the occasion, AAC, Fazilat Jehan warned bakers to avoid selling underweight roti. Otherwise stern action will be taken against them.
