Punjab Assembly in its 19th session here on Thursday passed the Punjab Technical and Vocational Training Authority (Amendment) Bill 2015. The bill was presented by Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah. In the house 'The Punjab Forest (Amendment) Bill 2015 was put for reconsideration and is to be presented later. Motion under Rule 244 -A of the Rules of Procedure of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab 1997 was also put for reconsideration and is likely to be put before the house later.
Minister Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department answering queries on the occasion told the house that Parks & Horticulture Authority would now take care of all the parks made in the newly established societies of Lahore. He said as soon as they get instructions from provincial government, they would deal with the issue of regularising daily paid employees. The minister said that in Bahawalpur City TMA, Cantonment Board Department, Irrigation Department and PCRWR have established water filtration plants.
He replying to a question told that there were 43 schemes in progress under Lahore Development Authority (LDA) in the city. He stated the authority was making a new scheme by the name of 'LDA City' in the city. He dilated that total area of this scheme was 60,000 kanal.
The provincial minister on another question told that 304 persons had so far obtained houses under 'Ashiana Housing Scheme'. He stated that all the basic necessities had been provided in this scheme. The minister to another question told that sewerage system of WASA was working in Youhanabad since 2004. He further said that 80 percent of water in Tehsil Sargodha was not drinkable. He stated that 52 percent of water in Tehsil Sahiwal was also not drinkable. The minister said that at present, there are 32 housing societies in District Gujranwala. The house was later adjourned by the chair.
