The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has said that Hajj quota would be allotted in light of new Hajj Policy 2016 and new Hajj Group Organisers (HGOs) should remain aware of from elements assuring them of getting quota allotted.
According to a ministry official, the main purpose of issuing survey forms to new HGOs was to have first hand knowledge about their expenditures and revenues, discourage exorbitant private Hajj packages and identify cheap Hajj package offers.
The survey forms were issued last month in light of the Supreme Court's directives for rationalising the Hajj packages. The HGOs have been asked to submit cheap Hajj packages.
The official said some elements were assuring the new HGOs of getting Hajj quota allotted to them, but all such claims totally false.
He said the survey form was meant for only consultation with the new HGOs. The Hajj quota would be awarded in the light of new Hajj Policy, which would be finalised after signing of agreement with Saudi Arabia on February 18.
