President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday conferred the award of Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) on Admiral Bulent Bostangolu, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces at a special ceremony held here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. The President decorated Admiral Bulent Bostangolu, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces in recognition of his outstanding services and contributions in strengthening relations between the navies of Pakistan and Turkey and for enhancing strategic cooperation.
The special investiture ceremony was attended by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Zakaullah, Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan, Secretary Defence and senior civil and military officers.
Later, Admiral Bulent Bostangolu called on President Mamnoon Hussain and discussed matters of mutual interest. The President congratulated Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces on being conferred with Nishan-i-Imtiaz (M) and appreciated his services in strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries. President Mamnoon Hussain said the people of Pakistan and Turkey were bound together in strong fraternal relations based on shared religious, cultural and historical affinities.
The President lauded the constructive role and efforts of Turkey in ushering in peace and stability in Afghanistan. Admiral Bulent Bostangolu, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces thanked the President and the Government of Pakistan on being awarded with Nishan-i-Imtiaz (M) and hoped that bilateral relations between the two countries would be taken to new heights in future.
