Legendary West Indies cricketer Sir Viv Richards said he is ready to offer the Pakistan cricket team as a coach though he feels that the current coach Waqar Younis is doing a "great job". Arguably one of the destructive batsman of all time, the 63-year old Richards, is currently mentoring Quetta Gladiators team in the ongoing inaugural season of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL).
"Waqar Younis at present is doing a great job with the Pakistan team but if given an opportunity to take up a coaching assignment with Pakistan cricket I would definitely give it a shot as I believe I have a lot to offer to the game," Richards was quoted as saying by http://www.tensports.com. Ever since the inception of T20 leagues around the world, the West Indian great has been one of the most sought-after names for mentoring teams.
Richards, who has a lot of respect for Pakistan, expressed his disappointment at the nation's inability to host international cricket due to security problems. "We (the West Indies team) were always ready to tour Pakistan." "The country has given some magnificent cricketers to the world and it's sad to see what has happened to the country with the lack of international cricket.I hope it improves," he concluded.
