'All is not well', according to PPP Senator Babar. Commenting on the abrupt cancellation of a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and National Accountability Bureau Chairman Qamaruz Zaman Chaudhry, Senator Babar has reportedly told the Senate that he has a premonition of 'disaster' for the government.
Little did he perhaps know that there was no such meeting scheduled for them. According to the Prime Minister's House, the news pertaining to the cancellation of a planned meeting between Chairman NAB and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not correct. "No such meeting was planned for today so the question of cancellation does not arise," the spokesman has been quoted as saying.
It is interesting to note that NAB has not fallen in line after prime minister's outburst against it. Its reaction could be termed 'prudent' because of a variety of factors. That Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah has said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is harassing big investors in the country through its "irresponsible action" is a strong evidence about the growing rancour between government and the NAB. So, NAB hasn't fallen in line as yet.
