Burnley surged back to the top of the Championship after Andre Gray scored twice to clinch a 2-1 win at struggling Bolton on Saturday. Gray's heroics helped Burnley overcome Liam Feeney's opener for Bolton as the Clarets moved one point clear of Hull in the second-tier table. Second-bottom Bolton, who are languishing seven points adrift of safety and are without a league win in four games, took the lead after 69 minutes through Feeney.
But Sean Dyche's side equalised when Gray fired home in the 74th minute and the former Brentford striker completed the comeback with five minutes remaining to bolster Burnley's bid for promotion to the Premier League. "We were off our performance levels and still won, and that's what you have to do sometimes in the Championship," Dyche said. "Andre's second is sublime. That goal is good enough to win any match. "He's got that fearlessness, he hits them, some weeks they don't go in and it doesn't bother him."
With Hull held to a 0-0 draw by Sheffield Wednesday on Friday, third-placed Middlesbrough were also able to improve their prospects of reaching the top flight with a 2-0 win at Fulham. Albert Adomah opened the scoring in the third minute and Grant Leadbitter, from the penalty spot, gave Aitor Karanka's side a two-goal advantage in the 20th minute.
