On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, a fund worth Rs50 million has been approved for Lahore General Hospital in order to complete its project regarding provision of clean, hygienic and pollution free environment in the premises of LGH. The amount would be spent on reconstruction and widening of inside roads of hospital. Moreover, tough tiles on the collars of inside roads and green belts would also be maintained to beautify the environment.
This was informed by Professor Khalid Mahmood, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital here today while presiding over an administrative meeting. He said that by using the above said amount, lightning arresting system would also be installed at the higher buildings of the hospital in order to avoid natural misfortune. Fire fighting system is also going to be installed in various parts of the hospital for the safety in case fire erupts at any department. He said that as many as 16 public toilets would also be constructed at various places to facilitate patients, their attendants and staff of LGH. He also told that the arrival and exit gates would also be separated under this project which will reduce inconvenience for visitors.
The Principal said that effective steps are being taken under the health vision of the CM so as to turn LGH into a state of the art organisation.
