British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Philip Hammond is arriving in Pakistan on Tuesday (today) to hold talks with Pakistani leadership on issues of the common interest and regional situation, it was learnt. Sources said that in a day-long visit, Secretary Hammond will meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and also hold bilateral talks with Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz to discuss the overall bilateral relations as well as regional situation including the ongoing Afghan peace process.
The British Secretary of State is also scheduled to address a joint news conference along with Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Tuesday after the talks. Secretary Hammond, who arrived in Kabul on Monday to hold talks with Afghan leadership, will arrive in Islamabad on Tuesday on his first visit to the country.
