President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF), Mian Zahid Hussain has said that country will continue to bear losses as policymakers are uninterested to evolve a proper water policy and water strategy. He said lack of water storage capacity is inflicting an annual loss of US 3.5 billion dollars to the national economy.
Water disputes and differences over mega dams had inflicted a loss of around US 1.5 trillion dollars to the country in the last 45 years, he mentioned. Mian Zahid said, "We are divided over important issues while India has constructed 171 dams to generate 28,000 He said proper water storage required three mega dams but the country has not constructed a single mega dam in the last 41 years.
