Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has organised a seminar on the International Women's Day to celebrate the contribution of women in general and female PTCL employees in particular, towards making the world a better place. The theme of the seminar was 'RENEW - Respect, Educate, Nurture & Empower Women.'
Eminent speakers included Bano Qudsia, Haseena Moin, Hasan Nisar and Mustansar Hussain Tarrar, who have contributed exceptionally to the cause of women and have also taken great strides to stand out and shine in their respective fields. The speakers emphasised that this occasion should be taken as an opportunity to take stock of progress made towards achieving gender equality and women's empowerment, as women have a vital contribution in peaceful and sustainable societies.
Syed Mazhar Hussain, Chief Human Resource Officer, PTCL said on the occasion: "Such events serve as landmarks that set the agenda for realising women's achievements in our society; PTCL is a strong advocate of gender equality and promotes talent regardless of gender bias. The idea is not to treat women in a special way but to treat them as equals and without any stereotyping. PTCL takes pride in encouraging gender diversity at the workplace and firmly believes that women have the ability to perform with equal skill and success in virtually all spheres of life."-PR
